We have been overwhelmed by the number of beautiful gifts that our new little girl Juliet has received over the past few weeks. She is one lucky little lady! I have only managed to write a couple of thank you cards at a time so I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone!
One particular present is extra special, it is a little book called Juliet’s story written by William Trevor and beautifully illustrated by Alan Clarke. It is a gift from my good friend Dee.
I have started reading it to Juliet every evening and it as if it was written especially for her, it is a fantasy adventure with witches and queens and all sorts of other interesting characters.
Here is the description on the back of the book…Where would you find talking snails, fighting queens, Welsh witches and winter sunflowers? In stories, of course, and that’s why Juliet loves them.
On a holiday in France, Juliet hears lots of stories — from her grandmother and from the toymaker who sells wind-up animals on the quayside.
Juliet wants to be a storyteller too, and when she embarks on a mission to rescue the little trout in the restaurant fish tank, she begins an adventure which turns into her very own story.
I’m looking forward to sharing years of stories and adventures with our little Juliet!
